How to remove call to action from the Sydney theme

I have no coding skills whatsoever. This is my first time even attempting to put a website together. I really like the Sydney theme, but I’d like to remove the click to begin button. I’ve checked the forum and none of the answers given has helped me to resolve this problem. Maybe some fresh eyes could help. I hope. I’ve installed simple custom CSS as well as firebug attempting to put in the codes that people said they’ve got resolution from but it did not work for me. So here is Sydney’s code.
