Use Aesop in own theme as custom post type

Hi,

is it possible to use Aesop in an highly customized self-made-theme as a custom post type?
We have a site with a standard (non-full-width) layout an want to build some special longread posts which use the Aesop engine. All other posts should use the standard layout.

Is this possible?
