Post Links Editing

Looking to see if someone could help guide me on how to make a change to a template.

In my current posts, the links are not easily distinguishable. For an average reader, unless they hovered their mouse over every word, they would never know I even linked an article. The current format has the link underlined (no color change) when the mouse hovers over it.

I would like to have the links appear in a standard, easy way. Perhaps blue, underlined text prior to clicking, purple, underlined text after clicking. Even bold maybe. Suggestions welcome.

I read some posts here that have me in the right direction, but the edits I have made have not worked as I was hoping. For example, apparently I changed the appearance for the entire site, because all my menus were purple. I’ve already corrected that, but just something I have done and failed.
