Can't edit home page

hi,
Wordpress newbie here.
I am trying to edit the home page of a website but without success.
I’ve created a page called home, gone in to settings, reading, set the front page display to static and selected the page called home, then selected another page as the posts page.
However when I go to my website the page that displays is not my ‘home’ page.
I’ve tried it on different computers, so it’s not a caching problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
