REQUEST: Different Points for Posts Submitted in Different Categories

  • On my website at https://www.soe.vc, I have many, many, many categories. ??

    The whole concept of my website is for USER SUBMITTED POSTS… and this plugin does allow for us to give points for user submitted posts. YAY!

    – HOWEVER –

    One thing I REALLY need, is to be able to give different levels of points for posts submitted to different CATEGORIES. (I’d like to give more points to those that submit “Shoutouts”, and less points to those that submit “Rants”, for example. ??

    Ouuu, I hope this can easily be implemented. I await your reply. Thank you for an A++++ plugin!

    Hi Jody,

    Thanks for your kind words.

    I’m currently working on a rewrite of the plugin that will make this feature possible. However, I won’t be able to add the feature in the next version (2.1), because of the way WordPress currently stores the categories in the database. WordPress is going to change this in version 4.4, so after that is released I will be able to add support for awarding different amounts of points based on categories and tags.

    So look for the feature in WordPoints 2.2, which will probably be released in January or February.

    Not to worry! For now we will simply reward the same points for all categories! But it’ll be lovely come Jan-Feb, when I can change this. THANK YOU! ??

    Hi @jim654,

    It is planned to be added in the next release, 2.4.0. I do not have an exact date for that release yet, but it will be sometime in the next few months.
