Theme 2014 – to update or not?

  • Hi, sorry to be a dunce here, but I’m not an IT/Systems man, I’m a Hypnotherapist who happens to have a WordPress site written for me. I have I think the base version of theme 2014 version 1.0.
    I am getting a message telling me that version 1.5 is available but I have been told that any updates to themes can over-write any personalisation (which I presume I have).

    Does anyone have any advice on this? Should I just click on the ‘update’ link or leave well alone?

    Any advice will be gratefully accepted.
