add white space to widget background

  • I am placing html into text widgets to display ads, but my sidbars are 160px and the ads are 120px, and the sidebar background is a tan color. As a result, the space around the ad is tan.

    I don’t want to get rid of the sidebar background color entirely. I just want to remove it where the ads are placed. Is there some simple html that I can use to make the background white where the widget is?
