I know there are functions: Expand multi-day events but here I do not want to use.

That’s the option to make the multi-day events show. If you do not have that enabled then they will not show up.

Then something wrong with the statement “List”. When I do these events are repeated every day, so it creates more and more blocks with the event.

You mean that happens when you turn on the “Expand multi-day events” option? Not sure I quite follow what you mean there.

Well, when I give Expand multi-day events as I do every day on one field. When I “List” list. But in the “List” view I do not want it. It looks like this.

And that’s just weird. When it “Grid” view, so it’s okay that every day is a record. But when I “List” would be the one record should show all days of the event. Not there be a need to 3x. In version 2.4.0 it worked there.

    Thank you for the correction

You can have different settings between the two calendars. Why don’t you just turn it off for the list and turn it on for the grid? Or am I missing something here?

Now I’m off the list of “Expand multi-day events” and that event which starts 18.12. and ending 20.12. there is no longer displayed.
And when I turned on “Expand multi-day events,” so there is a daily one block. But I would like to have a list of one block. That would show there after those 3 days. And it calmly and was repeated by setting “Expand multi-day events”

DO you mean trying to only show one day at a time? I am sorry I am confused on what you are trying to do/what the issue is.

Here they are seen 2 installation.
Here is the latest version of the old plugin 2.4.1
Here is the latest version of the new 3.0.10

In the old setting is at “Multiple Day Events” is written: Display multiple day events on each day That They span. If disabled, multiple-day events will be Displayed only on the first day They Occur. + Checkbox: Show on each day.
When checked, the events appear every day.
But if it is not checked. So the event is displayed only once. But after all the days scheduled.

I would like to make this function work as in the previous version.

    Thank you

If disabled, multiple-day events will be Displayed only on the first day They Occur.

That is the description of a different setting – “Expand Recurring Events”.

Is there a conflict when both are active?

    Thread Starter Michal Janata

    (@kalich5)

This is exactly the opposite function ….

    Thread Starter Michal Janata

    (@kalich5)

That’s how that functions exactly appoints impossible.
The point is that displaying the version 3.0.10 “sheet” is simply wrong.
Bud the event has on each day of the new rectangle and is thus necessary to 3x. (When the function Expand multi-day events ON)
Or the event can be seen only the first day and the next he can not see. (When the corresponding functions Expand multi-day events OFF)

2.4.1 In the old calendar it works. That when “Expand multi-day events OFF” so the event shows in ONE SQUARES throughout the duration.

And that’s how it was, so that’s how I imagined it, even in the new.

I’m not sure if I’m having the same issue, but I have multi-day events that do not show as the event has already begun. Selecting “Expand multi-day events” includes the event on every day that the event is occurring.

Is it possible to display multi-day events only once, even if the event started before today?

    Thanks!

    (@nickyoung87)

So what you both are asking is a way to show the multi-day event once per day but only if it is already past that time?

So a multi-day event that runs Monday – Thursday for example. Right now with the expand option enabled it will show on each day M – T. But what you are looking for is that if a user views on Monday then it only shows it on Monday, if they view it on Wednesday then it will only show it on Wednesday.

    Is that correct?

    Thread Starter Michal Janata

    (@kalich5)

    Probably yes.
I would like to multi-day event had a “sheet list” only one record at all times. Must be from Monday to Wednesday only one record. Just like it used to in the old version.

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for the reply.

What I believe Michal and I are looking for is the following:

I run a music school and would like to have school holidays showing as one event, even if the start of the school holidays has already begun.

e.g. Our holidays are from Dec 20, 2015 – Jan 31, 2016. You used to be able to display this as one event, regardless if the event hadn’t started yet or had already started.

It looks like with the current configuration, with expanding multi-day events, that single event is repeated every day that the event exists. On our website (www.joshcohen.com.au) where we only show five events in a list at a time, that one elongated event currently takes up all five slots with the same event.

    Thanks!

    @joshcohenmusic,

Ok but what do you mean by “one event”? I think that’s where I am confused I guess. Is it like I tried to explain in my last post? Where it wasn’t shown each day but it was shown at least once on each day that it was happening on (but not all days at the same time)?

    Hi Nick,

Firstly, thanks for your patience and for your help with this matter. Much appreciated!

I create all-day events that span weeks.

e.g. I have a current all-day event in our calendar called ‘School Holidays’ which spans from Dec 20, 2015 – Jan 31, 2016.

    https://s24.postimg.org/438u5zx9x/Screen_Shot_2016_01_03_at_12_49_03_am.png

I would like to display this event only once in my list of events of upcoming events from ‘now’ until the next five events. As the event has already commenced on Dec 20, it currently doesn’t show that event in the list.

Currently, expanding multi-day events consumes all five slots in the list of upcoming events. I would like it to display only once in the list.

Thanks again Nick, appreciate your help!
