Get apache to load WordPress as default directory?

Isn’t that apache.conf you need to edit ?

You could use the instructions at

to have the index.php page in a different directory from the wordpress files, which, I beleive will be easier that configuring apache to work in a non-standard way.
However if you want to have the blog in the root directory, move all the files in the wordpress directory to reside in the root directory, but before you do that, read the directions (Question #3) in the following page:

Apache could not care less where it is as long as it is in one of the public directories commonly htdocs I think. The root directory would severely limit the employment of apache, at least in an orderly way., for any other installation.

I followed the instructions to have the index page in another directory. This worked perfectly.
