Did the 2.3.2 Upgrade — Now undergoing “maintenance” FOREVER?

    I an a “newbie”, obviously, and did the Automatic Upgrade for WP 2.3.2 and after I completed the upgrade I got this error; “The Site is currently undergoing maintenance, Sorry for the inconvenience”. After about 30 minutes I restore the back-ups I had created. ZULICH! Am I screwed? Do I have to reinstall WP?

  • What backup did you restore? Your WordPress files or your WordPress database?

    What version were you at before doing the upgrade?

    Restored both files and database. Actually I was at 2.3.2 but noticed a message about “files needed to be cleaned up” and somehow I ended up reinstalling the upgrade. That’s when the “maintenance message appeared”.

    Since MichaelH didn’t get back to me I reinstalled WP. True I lost my because the backups didn’t work but the good news was I only had about six posts.

    I resolved the issue by reloading WordPress.
