Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing here – let me try and help. Firstly can I confirm that you are pasting in a users ‘username’ rather than their first and last name. Currently the plugin only searches for users usernames.

In terms of nothing appearing in the box, I assume you mean this is on the front-end of the site and not in the WordPress admin area?

I copy and paste the users username into the box because when I type directly I cannot see the text. I’m guessing this may be a css issue?

Yes if you are not seeing the text in the input box and you are on the front end of your site and not in the WordPress admin, then your theme is probably controlling the colour of the text in the input box.

Ok do you know the class or id do I can fix it?

This should help with getting the correct CSS classes etc.

I’ve added #000 color to the input box which works and I can now see the text.
However, it still doesn’t lookup users.
Also the input submit button is sitting under the WP ‘welcome user’ message. I have tried adding z-index to no avail.

Can you post a screenshot of the problem with the button appearing underneath? Does you site have more than 1 user?

Yes, have over 100 users.

After some experimentation, I have worked out the input is case sensitive AND the username must be entered in full. This is not very user-friendly. Could you update so it is not case sensitive and it matches uses based on, say 3 characters for example?

You can use wildcards in the search. For example if a users “username” is johnsmith then you could enter the following:

joh*

This would return any users starting with joh. Similarly you can use other wildcards too such as:

*hns*

or even:

*ith

Only any issue when screen resolution >750px

From the limited amount that I can see there I think that is just because there are so many items in the admin bar.

That doesn’t solve my problem…why is the input box below the wp login name link??? How can I swap the order? As I said z-doesn’t work.
