    I’ve read a lot of the archives present here similar to this error but nothing seems to help. I was updating one of my posts when suddenly I encountered the following error:

    “Not Found

    The requested URL / was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

    I did not make any changes to the .htaccess file or permalink structure. I cannot view ANY page on the site. I still have access to ftp. What can we do here?

    Could it be that just the host’s server is down?

  • You may want to contact your host just to make sure it isn’t server related. They should be able to check things out for you.

    It sounds like a server issue, but other things could cause something like this as well. Could even be a corrupt database.

    I did get random random “Error Establishing Database Connection” every now and then in the last couple of days.
    I’m going to call them anyway, let’s see.

    Good idea. Usually if you’re getting that DB connection error, something is going on with the server.

    Thanks for the help. I’ll let you know if it is indeed the host’s issue. Hopefully I can mark this as resolved soon.
