• Hi,

I am trying to show the “neighborhood” information for user generated events. Basically, i would like to know how i could use the events coordinate generated by events-manager/google map api to find out the name of the neighborhood for that events.

For example, instead of just having “28 jones street, New York, NY, 10014, USA” i would like to have “28 jones street, West Village, New York, NY, 10014, USA.

Is it something events-manager supports out of the box. If not, how could i achieve that. FYI – i am not a developer but i can mess around with basic syntax.

    Many thanks,
    Yvan

  • Hi Ynasr,

are you referring to https://www.ads-software.com/plugin/events-manager ? If yes, better ask here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/events-manager
But I assume, that this will require custom coding.
    Good luck!

Unless you know of an existing database where neighborhood geographic data is available, this will not happen unless you’re speaking of a very limited area. One might construct data for Manhattan neighborhoods, but the 5 boroughs would be a huge job, not to mention other major cities in the region and possibly beyond.

I would hazard to guess that if such data is not available from the Google API, then it’s not available in any authoritative* form. I’m willing to be wrong on this, so good luck in your search.

*part of the problem is neighborhood boundaries are typically ill defined and even contentious.
