page link error

  • I’m not sure how to tell what version I am using but I just loaded it with dreamhost. I am using the template pressrow. when I click on the about and the archive it gives me an error

    Not Found

    The requested URL /about/ was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I just set this up so I have not had time to breakk it yet but I don’t know what is wrong is there something I can do to fix it.

  • Problem is due to you having the default permalink structure in place (i.e. ?p=10, ?page_id=20), whereas the links at the top of the theme are hardcoded as ‘pretty’ permalinks. See the following for more on the topic:

    To fix this your choices are:

    1. Switch to a custom permalink structure, then make sure you have Pages (Write > Write Page) with those titles.

    2. Edit the theme template with those links (probably header.php) and correct or remove them, or whatever.
