Error when creating a post

  • I get an error in the Popularity Contest plugin when saving/publishing a post. The action hangs (blank page) and the result is the creation of several posts in the DB with the same name (in the case of publishing, one is published, the rest are drafts). The error I can see in CPanel is: [error] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/popularity-contest.php on line 1333
    The line number is not always the same (also 1334,1335,1322), but I cannot see issue in that place. The problem is since 1.3b2, also 1.3b3.
    Something similar happens when writing a comment, the action hangs, but there are no multiple comments written.
