    Hi Justin,

    There are two ways to fix this.

    1. Manually remove the attribute from your form code, since you have full access to it.
    2. Remove the entire field from your form mark-up and re-add it using our Field Helper. Make sure to leave the “required” checkbox unchecked.

    Backstory is that our Field Helper defaults to whether the field is required by MailChimp. However, if you want you can mark a field as required even though it is optional in MailChimp, as this can be helpful.
