ERROR: This is not a valid feed template.

    I am having XML sitemap error that states:
    ERROR: This is not a valid feed template when I navigate to the URL:
    /sitemap_index.xml
    It redirects to the same URL with a forward slash
    /sitemap_index.xml/

    I have unchecked the box in permalinks settings as other forum posts suggested:
    “Enforce a trailing slash on all category and tag URL’s”

    I have reset the permalink settings within WordPress settings as other forum posts suggested.

    I don’t have any caching plugins installed as other forum posts have discussed.

    I am at a loss and need more direct help. Anyone?
