Need suggestion for the type of theme / plugins to be used

    Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this….

    I need to develop a website / portal for a friend which is about providing mentors for the start-up companies. I’m not sure what type of theme to be used… Will Directory & Listing theme serve the purpose?

    The basic requirement is:

    1) There will be sign up option: as a start-up
    2) The sign-up form needs to be customizable
    3) The mentors will be signed up in offline mode. Site admin will create the users for different mentors for now. But in future mentors should also be able to sign up.
    4) Post sign up
    4.1. Mentor
    4.1.1. timeline
    4.1.1.1. Will see different startups who require mentorship in his/her field of expertise.
    4.1.1.2. Will see latest startup news from various social media
    4.1.1.3. Future additions**
    4.1.2. Can select any number of startups above the minimum number described in their profile
    4.1.3. Will be paid based on two things
    4.1.3.1. Completion of minimum number of startups
    4.1.3.2. For startups mentored above the minimum number of startups
    4.1.4. Select working days and the timeframe for mentorship
    4.1.5. Selected startups will line up for mentorship in the given timeframe
    4.1.6. Mentoring session
    4.1.6.1. Each session will last an hour max.
    4.1.6.2. Can be through messaging or video call (on the website)
    4.1.6.3. After completion, rate the startup out of 5++
    4.1.7. Can end mentorship of any startup after completion of one month, i.e. minimum 4 sessions.

    Any suggestions? Or can anyone tell me how to select the theme for the specific purpose?

    That’s not a “ask for a suggestion”, it’s a job spec. ??

    You’ll need to do some experimentation yourself. Start with the plugins on this list.

    The functionality isn’t in a theme, it’s added by plugins.

    Once you’ve done some experimenting you’ll need to decide which plugin comes close to matching your needs. You’ll need to consult a developer and/or a designer after that.

    Thanks Jan, I’ll definitely do that…In fact I have been doing some googling…. Do you think buddy-press and membership plugin will work?
