    I download a pdf to the media library. I then insert it into a page. But I keep getting an error message (see below) when I try to open the Pdf. I have been doing this same thing for over a year without a problem until today. Why?

  • Hi –

    Can you send a link to a page where this is happening? It will help to see where the page is looking for the PDF.

    Also, did you upgrade WordPress or plugins, or add any plugins just before this happened?

    Hey sdnewcomers,

    I’m very sorry to hear that you’re having trouble. I’ll do whatever I can to help.

    Please try to follow below steps, sometimes it solves the issue:

    1. Go to Settings->Permalink
    2. Click on Save Changes

    If it does not solve your issue, please let me know the file path from which you are trying to access PDF file or is it happening with only PDF’s or other media files as well?

    Good Luck
    Juhi

    I did upgrade plugins.
    I solved the problem by copying the file url from the library page and pasting it in on the page where I am inserting the document.

    Glad you were able to resolve it!
