Serious problem: User passwords come unsynced, rendering account useless

  • This is a problem that cycles around my site.

    All users are eventually affected by this.

    The user is able to log on using Active Directory Login. They update their details, log in a few times, everything seems fine.

    After running a cron to update users, that same user will be unable to log in. No methods of changing password, including updating via phpMyAdmin are successful.

    User account must be deleted and recreated, losing all data.

  • What are your password settings on the User tab?

    We also sync all our users from AD every night since we also push thumbnailPhoto from the AD and need to fiddle a bit to make it work in WP.

    We do not allow “Local Password Change”, we do “Set pwd on first login” and we do “Auto update PWD”.
