Automat(t)ic redirection of old blog to new URL

I have moved my blog hosted with wordpress.com to my website.
I am interested how can I set-up an AUTOMATTIC REDIRECTION to new URL, because I see people trying to find my blog (I needed some time in the meantime for set-up it at new URL with some new features etc.)

I have posted new URL at the page with old URL which I left only for that purpose, but not sure if coukld be as efficient as redirection.

Please help me to resolve this.
