Finally fixed my goof and reinstalled my self hosted blog. https://therapistwithbipolar.com/blog

I am trying to install a simple graphic on my header. On .com Kubrick has the option for a custom headline. I can’t seem to find it here so I assume it isn’t there.

So I downloaded freshblue because it was 2 column and said you could do a custom header. Try as I may, I can’t get that to upload (yes, I did extract it)to the wp-content/header/templates folder.

Can anyone suggest how to solve my problem in a way that a rank beginner can understand. I have changed the color of type and the background color and they are ok. All I want is my border along the bottom

Have you gone to your presentation settings? Typically you may see a tab named Current Theme Options, and you may find a dialog box which allows you to upload a custom header if your theme supports that option. Depending on the structure of your site, any images for your theme would typically be found in the following directory:

    wp-content/themes/theme-name/*

If you’ve done this and it still doesn’t work, perhaps your theme doesn’t support this. If you examine the folder which contains your theme, you may be able to discern the path to the header image that the template is currently calling for, and you may be able to just overwrite the current image with your new image (using the same name of course)

Also — please make backups of your themes before you start modifying.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will go have a look. That option does not appear in .org but it did in .com. I doubt if I can find that path for the header. I am so new that I can’t do a lot of the things that I need to be able to do.

I may have to go back and try to upload a different theme. Can’t figure out why freshblue would upload. Who knows! This has been a nightmare and all for just a simple border to personalize it. Think I should tell my sister to forget it?
