Using fukasawa with polylang

I have a multilang site and I would really like to be able to use translation strings for some of the labels on the theme i.e. “Search now” and “Older posts”. I understand that it would be best if translations would be built into the theme from start but I really like this theme and I want to continue to use it. Is it possible for me to replace some of the labels on the theme with translation stings so that I can use the theme with something like Polylang.
