your email address is confusing to me. sorry.

basically ive set up some (4) google alert rss feeds and want to populate into wordpress posts and leave on auto pilot.

but.. its not populating the images and other parts correctly. some are also coming out truncated or no content, just title.

also if theres a way to populate the image to also be a featured image as well.

    thanks

Because WP.org seems not allow I put the email in correct syntax. So I have to provide my email like that way. Sorry for confusing!

I’m afraid that you should not use Google RSS. Because it includes news from many different sources. And as you know, the various sources will have the different HTML structure. So there is not a general way for settings WPPipes to grab content from details pages.

There is only way for you: that is using data in <description> element of the feed’s items as the grabbed content. But with this way, the imported feature images will only be the thumbnail and the quality is very bad.

    Hi Rolling Stone,

Yes, I agree with your idea.

We should not use Google News feeds if we want to have the whole content from original source pages.

its the only way i know how to curate content automatically pulling from all web sources.

do you have any other suggestions on how to feed in specific curated content?

is there another way to plug in key words to create an rss feed that will formulate title / image / content correctly? or consistently??

    Hi mikesoops,

I do not understand much your question.

The best way of using WPPipes is using the RSS feed from the specific sources.

For example: https://foobla.com/component/obrss/blog is a RSS feed which contains only news from Foobla site, not from others. If we use this kind of feed, it will be more easier for setting up.

    Hopefully it could make sense!

    Best Regards!

i understand completely the complexity of pulling from google reader alert rss feeds as the sources will all have different templates they use for their posts.

although i still can not figure out how to fetch the first image used in the post to populate as the feature image as well. yes it shows in content. but not in feature image.

will you have feature image in destination input feature added in next update??
this would be a nice addition.

as well as when adding processor and expanding option that we can also input div classes and id’s to pull from so that we can target specific content from rss feeds we want to pull from. just for advanced options. this would be great.

    thanks

i found a plug in that can solve the thumbnail feature image automatically.

its called auto post thumbnail. !

maybe you can use some their code in your plugin. ??
