Hi Mika, sorry, but I still have some issues with my install, if you could help, I would really appreciate it.

The issue is still with the 2nd checkbox option, “Point file URLs to DreamSpeed/DNS Alias for files that have been copied to S3”.

When I turn it off, any images that are uploaded to the Media Library is indeed also uploaded to DreamObject (I checked with the DreamHost web panel).

However, when I look closer at the file URL of the new images uploaded, they are not “…objects.dreamhost.com…”.

In your last post, you mentioned that “it will be without the fastly cache, but still dream speed.”

I am now puzzled at what I am missing. If the file URL is not “…objects.dreamhost.com…”, doesn’t that mean the files are served through the original web host and not the DreamSpeed CDN plugin?

I checked the persmissions on the bucket; it has been enabled for CDN, but currently set on PRIVATE.

    Much thanks in advance.

I checked the persmissions on the bucket; it has been enabled for CDN, but currently set on PRIVATE.

    Well that’s a problem.

PRIVATE images can’t be viewed by the PUBLIC…

However, when I look closer at the file URL of the new images uploaded, they are not “…objects.dreamhost.com…”.

    And what ARE the urls?

Ok, all the images and the buckets are public now.

The URL is the path of the original web domain (e.g. https://www.mydomain.com… ).

Would it help if I send you a temporary login info to your email? I am ok with that if it helps. It’s still a prototype and I am just using it to learn how to use your plugin.

    Thanks again.

Okay I had to stop and think about this for a second… and I’m stupid. Sorry.

The slider is not showing images if the 2nd option, “Point file URLs to DreamSpeed/DNS Alias for files that have been copied to S3”, is checked ON.

I was totally wrong. I didn’t remember what the second option really meant.

If you turn that off, then no images get pointed to the CDN. I was thinking that you meant the other dream.io option for some reason. Bad reading comprehension on my part. I can only assume when I read “how would that affect images served from dream.io” I stopped thinking and assumed you meant ‘if I turn off dream.io, wil the CDN still work?’

So… yeah. no. If you uncheck the second option, images are uploaded to the CDN but WP doesn’t use them.

    What Slider is this?

    Thanks.

    Ok, no worries.

Yeah, this fits with my observations – “uncheck the second option, images are uploaded to the CDN but WP doesn’t use them.”

It’s a paid slider plugin, “WooCommerce Product Carousel Slider Pro”.

Ok, thank you again for your time.
