I’m having some sort of freezing/not loading properly-problem, using BB Lite on Tesseract 2.3.1.

When launching Beaver Builder on any of my pages the program goes into what seems to be a normal mode of Beaver Builder drag-and-drop screen. However, the vertical menu on the right side is not responsive, and I’m not able to exit the menu either. The vertical menu only shows Row Layouts, Basic Modules, Advanced Modules and WordPress Widgets (as BB Lite should), but they are not responsive. And I’m not able to hide this menu either, as the X on top of it is also non-responsive.

On the top horizontal menu I only see the alternatives (buttons) Tools, Done and Upgrade (and not the usual two “Add Content and ….), but they are neither responsive. I’ve tried several refreshes, but this doesn’t help. Although a refresh every time did help a few days ago…

I’ve also tried to deactivate the plugin and reactivated it, but it does’nt help. I’ve not yet tried to delete the plugin and reinstalling it, as I’m afraid to loose content on my site.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Hey Wompa,

Thanks for posting! Problems like this are usually caused by a 3rd party plugin conflict. Can you try deactivating all plugins except BB and see if you get the same problem? Then try reactivating each one until you find the culprit.

Let us know how it goes! ??

    I have the same problem.
When I click on “Start Page Builder” for a site, the site loads, and even the Page Builder interface. But when I click on the Menu nothing happens – whether it’s a button or the X for closing, I can’t do anything.
I already tried deinstalling, deactivating it… and I also deactivated all other plugins. Nothing helps :/

Oh, and I tried various browsers, too.

    Hey Lidl-De,

Can you try switching to a different theme real quick and see if that fixes it? You could try using one of those free TwentyX themes.

Oh no, this worked indeed ?? But I used the Builder with my Theme (ButterBelly) before and it worked just fine – what happened then?

I had installed more than 60 plugins, so it was a bit of a job. Here is what I found out.

I was able to activate all the plugins again without experiencing any problem with BB Lite, except for one – Cloudflare (free version). When activating this plugin I got these problems with BB Lite again, so I deactivated it again, and BB Lite was working fine again. However, Cloudflare is an important plugin for me, as it provides me with DNSSEC which I consider important as well as a free CDN. I still have an unresolved issue on with respect to this, but the problem seems not to be with BB Lite.

Another strange thing I would like to share, that has bothered me more than once, is that activating Cloudflare also made all my links to https-sites (like Paypal) removed the “s” (secure socket layer) and converted into a http-link. The links in BB Lite was not changed and the code showed https-links. The effect was that my customers did not add anything to their shopping cart, but was sent to the frontpage of Paypal. This was only a problem with IE 11.0 and not with any other browsers. I tried with Opera, Firefox, Safari and Chrome and none of them had the same problem with converting https to http.

I have investigated this issue thoroughly earlier, and there has been reported a lot of problems with IE 11.0 and Paypal. I recognize that this is not a BB Lite issue, but wanted to share this as well.

I am a big fan of BB Lite which makes newbies like me able to compose professional websites without being an expert in coding. Your support is excellent and very valueable to us. Even though myself (and others) are users of your free version today, I am considering moving up a bit to one of your premium BB versions. And there is no other site builder I would consider.

    Hey Lidl-De,

Do you mind shooting us an email over at hello [at] wpbeaverbuilder [dot] com and we’ll take it from there? Try adding a link to this thread so we know the issue.

    Wompa,

Thanks for the kind words! We really appreciate it! ?? Do you by chance have CloudFlare’s RocketLoad feature enabled? This feature somehow interferes with BB’s functionality so we recommend turning it off while actively working on the site. You can turn it back on once you’re done.

Yes, I was using RocketLoad all the time. Maybe this is the cause for the problems? I will check and post the results!

    Ben,

I’ve just tested to activate Cloudflare again and the problems I described in this thread re-emerged. However, when disabling the Rocket Loader in Cloudflare (BTW a real speed booster!), the BB Lite was OK again.

Thanks for your precise support on this issue. I’m back using both BB lite and Cloudflare.

Do you have any plans for trying to solve this issue on a permanent basis?

    Hey Wompa,

Sorry to say, but the problem is with how RocketLoad works. You can check Justin’s reply below on the forums for a more precise answer as to why it doesn’t work with BB. ??

I have the exact same problem. I deactivated all of my plugins and it hasn’t resolved. Do you know what else it could be?

    (@hinampaksh)

    Hey Irncru,

Can you give a brief description of the issue you’re experiencing? Also, what was the last thing you did before the problem started happening? Does BB not work on all pages? Even new ones?

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for the response. My issue is exactly like the OP’s. This is the first time I’ve used it so didn’t upgrade or install anything to break it. I used it for the first time on a test page, followed the tour and added a simple row with some content. The first time I went back to edit it I couldn’t click on anything in the drag and drop screens. I can’t click done, or the X button to close it, nothing. I’ve played out the scenario again and had the same response.

    Hey Imcru,

Is it only happening on that single page? Can you create a new one and see if you get the same thing? What theme are you using? Can you try using another theme real quick and see if you get the same issue? You could try one of those free twentyX themes.

I just had a go at replicating it, and have discovered that it was adding the ‘Featured Content’ widget that caused the page to freeze. I haven’t tested all of them but I tried adding a few different widgets and everything worked fine, until adding that one caused the issue

    Plugin Contributor Ben Carlo

    (@hinampaksh)

    Hey Irncru,

Where is that widget coming from? Is it from a plugin or from the theme you’re using? Does the problem occur every time you add that widget to the page?

    Ben
