Please contact a site admin.”

    Si j’intègre l’emoji en mettant “;-)”, ?a fonctionne.

    Pouvez-vous m’aider ?
    Merci.

Hmm, I am afraid of this bug :).
You are using the latest version of WordPress and of the plugin?

If so I will make a debug version of the plugin and maybe that can tell more. I won’t be able to make that tomorrow, so please be patient.

    Thanks for your message.

Yes, I’m using the latest version of wordpress and of your plugin.

    Don’t worry, I will be patient ??

Hi, there is a debug version at:
    https://timelord.nl/tmp/
After saving an entry it will show debug info in the message box. Could you paste the info here? Please be aware that you might need to strip privacy info, like an email address or domainname.
Afterwards you want to install the normal current version.

Hi, sorry but I’m not sure that I understand…. The problem is still present…

(sorry for my bad english ?? )

    (@mpol)

Hi, yes, it is. I was hoping to get some information that would tell me what the problem is. Everything looks fine however. The database uses utf8mb4 so it should be able to store emoji.

Just wondering… are you able to add an emoji to a wordpress post and to a comment?

Also, can you share the url of your website?

    Bigamext

Add an emoji to a wordpress post and to a comment : the problem is the same (Une erreur s’est produite pendant l’enregistrement.) except if I write ?? or ?? ….

    Ah, thanks. That is something.

Could you try posting an entry with the version from:
    https://timelord.nl/tmp/

I am this time only interested in the MySQL Variables. Could you paste these here?
Afterwards you again want to go back to the normal version from www.ads-software.com.

    Thank you.
What I think is best is to put in a support ticket with your hosting provider, and point to this topic.
Your hosting provider is the company that you are paying your yearly bill to :).
It should be possible to post Emoji on a WordPress website.

I am only partly experienced in server administration. The people at your hosting provider should be experts at this topic however.
What I think is happening is that the settings for MySQL (in /etc/my.cnf) are set to utf8, and not to utf8mb4. An Emoji character is a character that is 4 bytes, and you need to have utf8mb4 support to be able to use it. The database supports it, but I think that the connection between WordPress and the database only supports utf8/utf8mb3 which breaks on Emoji characters.

BTW, I do like your nickname :).

    Oh, no worries :).
I hope the support people at your hosting provider pick it up well.
