After using WordPress for my personal blog, I decided that it would be ideal as a CMS for my school webpage. I successfully (or so I thought) uploaded and installed WP 2.3.3 to my school account and everything else seems to be working normally. However, whenever I try to view a page (e.g. “About”), I’m getting a 404-Not Found error.

I’ve double checked and the pages have “Published” checked under “Page Status” in the manage pages tab of my admin panel.

I’m at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

    For reference: my school webpage

Ah well…nevermind. I figured out what the problem was and thought I’d post it here just in case anyone else experienced the same thing.

The problem was with the permalinks. I had previously switched (under “Options>Permalinks”) to date and name based. Apparently, something didn’t like that. I switched back to the default and the pages are displaying again.

Probably has something to do with the university servers. That’s my only guess. Ah well, I suppose I can live with it.

Thank you for posting the solution. I had the same problem and your fix worked perfectly! (and I’m not on university servers)

    YEAH!

    Yup… that had me too… thaaaaankyooo x x x
