    Hi there,

I’m using Version 3.5.2 of the plugin on the most recent WordPress and Buddypress versions.

My problem is that emails sent by my WordPress installation keep getting flagged as SPAM by several big email providers. One of the reasons seems to be that the IP adress of the server sending the emails is currently on the Composite Blocking List (CBL). It says: “We have detected that this IP is NATting for, or is infected itself, with a Trojan spam mailer script. The offending script is post.php”. I’ve searched for the stealrat botnet but could not find any signs of it. I’ve also started a Wordfence scan but got no issues.

I’m thinking that maybe the large number of emails sent at the same time (around 70) and the fact that every email contains several links might be causing this problem. Could this be true? If so, how to fix this problem? Thank you!

    Cheers

    Matthias

  • This is a common problem with emails sent by WordPress. Try installing a plugin to send emails via your host’s SMTP email server. I use Easy WP SMTP by wpecommerce – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

    Hi Peter,

thanks for your reply. Meanwhile, I have installed a plugin called
“WP Mail From II”, which allows you to configure the “From” address of emails sent by WordPress. I’ve set this to an existing email address of my webspace. Works like a charm. ??

    Best
