Contact form coversion tracking on GA not working

    WordPress 4.4.2 running Sparkling theme.
    Contact Form 7 Version 4.3.1

    I inserted
    on_sent_ok: "ga('send', 'event', 'Contact Form', 'submit' , 'Contact me');"
    and wordpress did not display “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”.

    I inserted
    <script>on_sent_ok: "ga('send', 'event', 'Contact Form', 'submit' , 'Contact me');"</script>
    and wordpress displayed “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”.

    Is there any other solution that I can try?
