You may find that your WooCommerce e-mail notifications for New, Cancelled and Failed orders are not working if you’re hosting your WordPress site with GoDaddy C-Panel. After much detective work, I found the problem with my site. The problem for me had to do with GoDaddy WorkSpace e-mail accounts created using e-mail credits from a C-Panel e-mail plan. My lesson learned: For GoDaddy e-mail accounts that need to receive notifications from your GoDaddy C-Panel-hosted WordPress site, don’t use GoDaddy C-Panel e-mail or Workspace e-mail accounts created using C-Panel e-mail credit. See details below.

I have configured WooCommerce to send e-mail notifications to [email protected] from [email protected] (both e-mail addresses within the website’s domain). I was using e-mail plan ‘credits’ that were included with GoDaddy’s C-Panel hosting and applying these credits to GoDaddy Workspace e-mail accounts (I created the e-mail accounts within GoDaddy Workspace e-mail and selected the C-Panel e-mail plan). No matter what I tried, my GoDaddy e-mail addresses configured under the C-Panel e-mail plan would not receive e-mail from my WordPress site. I changed the GoDaddy e-mail plan for [email protected] to one of my purchased e-mail plans (changing no other e-mail account settings) and [email protected] immediately began receiving e-mail from my WordPress site. I then changed the e-mail plan for [email protected] back to the C-Panel e-mail plan and e-mail continued to work as expected.

Now, to create e-mail accounts associated with my WordPress site domain, I select one of my purchased e-mail plans when first creating the e-mail account, save the e-mail account, and then change the plan for the e-mail account to the e-mail plan included with my C-Panel hosting plan.

So the key is if that Godaddy email account is paid one?

    Hi, mingoland,

At the time of my post (above), that was the only way I could get it working. I later had additional problems with alerts sent using PHP-mail, so I installed the Easy WP SMTP plugin and now send my WooCommerce notifications via SMTP. If your WordPress site is hosted on GoDaddy C-Panel, the Easy WP SMTP settings are as follows:

    SMTP Host: smtpout.secureserver.net
    Type of Encryption: None
    Port: 80
    SMTP Authentication: Yes

With email configured as described in my first post (above) and Easy WP SMTP configured as described here, my WooCommerce alerts are delivered reliably.
