All topics and categories lost – only homepage left. How to recover?

    This is about https://www.goldfishgaming.com.
    I have this site hosted with HostGator, and a few days ago I was messing around with addon domains. I don’t work on this blog much, so I just noticed today that none of the links work. Only the homepage exists.

    In my wp-content folder there is only index.php (this is where my posts are supposed to be, right? ). I have tried posting new posts, and they appear on the homepage but clicking the links still bring up a 404 error.

    I talked to the HostGator support and they said they didn’t know what happened, but they could restore it to Sunday’s backup (I didn’t back anything up) for $15. Would this even work, since I can’t post anything new, maybe the problem is elsewhere?

    I just set my permalink structure to default instead of /%postname%/ and the posts work now. But why won’t it work with /%postname%/ ?

    Ok I just switched back to /%postname%/ and it works. So I don’t know what messed it up, but it’s working now.
