404 – will not install!

  • Let me first start off saying I don’t know to much with the whole programming BS and attempted to do it all myself tonight. Because fantastico is not up to date, I tried to manually install wordpress so i could get 2.3.3.

    I’m pretty sure I did everything right, followed the instructions to a T, and when i go try to install it (https://smartrebel.com/wp-admin/install.php) it comes up as ‘404 not found, this page does not exist.’

    WTF?!

    what causes that?

    and if i just do the one click installation that has 2.3.2, and try to upgrade it, that doesn’t work either, says it’s already upgraded.

    any advice?
