Migrated site re-directing to old address when trying to log in to admin panel
-
I recently had to change my website address and my hosting company transferred my old wordpress site into the new one for me behind the scenes as I am not that tech savvy and had done quite a bit of work to it.
The old site njdconsulting has been left as a front page with links to the new one njdpeopleconsulting as there is still some documentation out there with the old address on and I don’t want people to get a 404 or blank site.
When my hosting company moved my site they gave me the same login username as for the old site. It had been working fine but today I have tried to log into the new wordpress account to update my website and it has been automatically changing to the old site login page.
E.g. i type njdpeopleconsulting.co.uk/wp-admin into the address bar and it automatically chanegs it to: https://njdconsulting.co.uk/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.njdpeopleconsulting.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1 so when I log in I am in the old web site. I had started making some changes until I realised where I was.
Unfortunately I can’t take the old site down completely as I there are still some business cards etc with the old address hanging around and I don’t want to lose people completely if they hit an error page.
I have emptied my cache and retried but it is still doing the same and can’t do any of the other things suggested like deactivate plugins because I can’t get into my site.
Any help would be appreciated.
