That at the top of your menu div would work.
OR
Create a new link category, ensure it lists as #1, enter your desired URI for it to point to, and have the image as a link (enable images for that category in the link manager)
It will align like the others do.

Umm, so that markup didn’t work. It just gave me a thin white line and the image didn’t show up….

Okay, thanks… that worked…. now how do I make it so the image doesn’t get boxed and formatted like the rest of the menu items? (you can see what I mean by looking at the site right now).
Do I make a div in the CSS and put the div around the image/link in index.php? What should the div say?

Given it’s location, I’d go with an inline style. It’ll need some playing with …
