    I use Yoast to define what image is displayed on LinkedIn and other Social Networks.

    It is not always picked up automatically by the Social Network, if it is not defined they will use what they think is the biggest or first Image.

    LinkedIn have now changed their picking criteria so the image must be over a certain size, if it is not no image is displayed..
