How do I De-Activate the comments on a static page ?

    Is it possible to de activate the comments for one of my satic pages ?

    I looked on the “manage” pages but could not see any way to stop the huge sign that says
    ” No comments yet. Be the first.
    Leave a reply”

    Have you gone to pagename==edit and unchecked allow comments allow pings under Discussion?
