Can you password protect files AND pages?

  • Hi folks, I know you can passoword protect a page, but can you also password protect files that are uploaded and are linked to that page?

    I put a password protect on our executive committees files page, but if you know the links to each individual PDF, you don’t need the password. Is there any way to protect each individual file?

    You may want to ask your hosting provider.

    No, you don’t understand the question. I’m asking if you can do it in WordPress. I already know how to do it without WordPress. I don’t need to ask my hosting provider that basic information.

    But when you do that it creates a page that is just a list of the links to the files on a plain white page, and I want them to appear in the same template and theme as my WorPress site.
