wont load wp-admin for my domain

    Hey,
    looking for a helping hand. Ive come across a problem where ive been unable to get into my wordpress admin page on my domain so I can log in to then start using word press. For example, www,example.com will work and come to a blank page with the hosting account symbol, but when its https://www.example.com/wp-admin/ It continues to come up with “this page can’t be found blaah blahh”
    I’ve tried to research and fix this problem myself, but I have had no luck so far. This is my first go at putting together a website so I am Fairley new to all of it but I’m very keen on understanding it.

    Any suggestions, videos , step by step help to fix my problem would be much appreciated !

  • It’s hard for us to diagnose with just the details provided so far.

    What is your actual site URL? Also, have you tried to contact your web host’s support about this? They would be best equipped to solve your problem.

    You need to login first to get to your wp-admin panel. Use https://www.example.site/wp-login.php to get to your WordPress login window.

    does not seem to want to find the /wp-login.php area .
    so if you have any ideas to why this could happen thatd be great!?

    ive just contacted the domain customer service to see if they can fix it, but no reply as of yet.

    That link takes me to the domain’s placeholder, it looks like it isn’t pointed at your website yet.

    Aw no, as this is my first time trying to put up my own website so ive obviously stuffed up some where along the lines, is there a section in the control panel that id go to to change this to make it work. As i want to use wordpress to build my theme and content on my website!

    It may just be a question of time, and waiting until the domain points to the host, im assuming the hosts did this for you. if you’re still having trouble in a couple of hours, pop a support ticket in and ask them to lend you a hand with the DNS.

    If you can find the IP address of the box, you can use that instead of the url and it will connect fine . for example 111.111.1.111/yoursite/yourpage.html will still connect you to the right page if you find the right ip and if you are desperate to get your site sorted asap.

    I’m picking up a Trojan when visiting that site – are you sure it is a legitimate hosting company?

    The hosting company was namecheap.com not sure if they were good or not?

    NameCheap is a legitimate company. Assuming NameCheap is your domain registrar as well as your web host, you may want to double check with their support to see if there are DNS issues happening with your domain.
