Header image size?

    Why does the Header image recommend a size of 2560 x 260 pixels. That is the widest image requirement I’ve ever seen. I tried an image in those exact proportions. About 100 pixels on the left were cut off. I found an image of 2450 x 260 pixels works pretty well.
