Adding video hero images

Might be a simple question but I have seen a few site in which the hero image is actually a slow moving video (or normal speed video) I was curious about specific compression or sources for these types of hero videos for my wordpress site. Again this is not a video for a promo or anything just a nice video background in the hero section as ambiance.
