    Please try the below steps, I hope it would help you

    • Click on Edit of Permalink and remove the unwanted characters
    • Click on OK
    • Now click on Update

    It will change your post permalink. Let me know if it does not work.

    Hi thanks for getting back to me. I have done all the obvious things but no joy. There must be a duplicate somewhere in the database?

    Hey Hey 5starcruises,

    There could be one possibility also, please search the page name in Media also. If media has any image/audio/video with this name then it can cause this -2.
    Go to Media, type the name in search box and press enter.

    I have a problem on my website can any one please help me ?

    my permalinks in media are even longer now.

    Drad cast ep. 92, @ ~46min.00sec. talks about a new patch for Slug collisions. I wonder if this related?
    The trac ticket of the new patch might tell. Maybe look for the trac ticket could help.

    hmm, oops, the ticket i was thinkig of, https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/11863, isn’t relevant after all.

    I re-read above that even though there are no items with that name in the trash, its still adding a “-2” to the slug.

    I’d indeed agree that shouldn’t be the case.

    @5starcruises is this happening with only that one page? how many different posts/pages is the symptom happening?
