Excerpt Help with Visual Composer plugin

    I am using the Grid/List Layout With Carousel plugin via Visual Composer on my Divi theme. It looks great. My only issue is that the excerpts seem to pull short code opposed to the actually custom excerpts i have typed in the except section of each post. Any one know how to get the manual excerpt to show up on the grid layout?
