Can you please provide a screenshot of what it is doing, and clarify what you expect it to differently?

The images have already been run through the optimization 2 times now but it doesn’t do anything to these ones and keeps reporting them as unoptimized.

Does it say they are “no processed” in the Media Library, or are they showing up on the “unoptimized images” page?

They’re showing on the unoptimized images page.

“We have 990 images to optimize.”

Can you post a screenshot of what happens when you click Optimize All Images there, and then what it does when you click Start Optimizing please? You can use cloudup.com to post screenshots.

It takes me to the bulk optimize page and says “990 images in the Media Library have been selected (990 unoptimized)”

And then when you click Start Optimizing?

That’s very strange, no error messages anywhere?

UPDATE: nevermind, I see how that is possible now. If the file doesn’t exist anymore (or WordPress can’t find it anyway), it will claim to have optimized the image, but not really do anything. EWWW will get as far as the function that parses the attachment metadata, fail to find an actual file, and just return.

How do I get rid of this info?

    (@nosilver4u)

Do you mean how to get rid of the “unoptimizable” images? You’d have to switch to list view in the Media Library and try to hunt them down one by one and delete them. They should be rather easy to spot, as the thumbnails are probably missing and the Image Optimizer column will say “Could not retrieve file path”
There IS the slim possibility that some of the resizes exist, because EWWW first checks for the original image, and does nothing more if that doesn’t exist.
I suspect you might have a few too many images to try and attempt that, so I’m really not sure what you can do except just ignore it and move on. I’ve just implemented a proper error message for this particular situation that will be released in 2.6 which should also have the side effect of making sure those “missing” images no longer show up on the unoptimized images page after a bulk optimization.
