Huge-it slider

Hi, please can someone help me. I purchased the huge-it slider with the intention of having a full width slider directly beneath my header and menu bar. I am using the twenty fourteen child theme.
The problem I have is that it will not go full width.
I contacted Huge-it support and they said that my theme container is not full-width therefore the slider is also not full-width and that is all they would tell me.
What I need to know is how I can have my full width slider but also maintain my content container width and still allow for my rhs sidebar.
Please, please can anyone tell me how this can be achieved as I have been scratching the hair off my head trying to figure this out.
I love the plugin, but unfortunately, if I cannot get it to work properly; then maybe I have to try some other plugin.
