Overhang on Resonar Theme

I am attempting to have some of the pictures I upload “overhang” on either side of the column. I was under the impression that the Resonar theme did this automatically for all photos that were wider than 1088px. But when I add pictures that are wider than 1088px, there is no overhang. It still forces the picture to fit the column.

I’ve gone to the pages of other bloggers who are using Resonar, and overhang is working for them. Is there something I am doing wrong?
