Import of blog data into new WP site

Hi there

We have had a WP blog operating till now as a separate section of a site. We are now putting a new site – based on WooCommerce. We would like to bring all the posts from the old blog into the new site.

is it safe to just copy rows from the MySql Database (wp_posts table) from the old to the new database?

I don’t want to overwrite any settings etc – i just want to import the blog posts, and relevant media.

The blog is self-hosted, i have FTP and CP access on both.
There are about 150 blog posts – all by the default admin user.
no comments, no featured image. just post content (which could include images).
If the posts could retain their old URL that would be best. The old and new site do not have the same URL structure (though both are custom)
