No Categories after upgrade

  • For some reason when I updated to 2.3.3, I had no problems except for my category section: there is none. But I have several other blogs and when I updated them they all worked with categories intact. I tried changing the theme a dozen times and nothing help still no categories.

  • Do you back up the old database? Try to re-install the wordpress, maybe you don’t upload all the file to server before you do the upgrade. Make sure you upload all files.

    Always follow all the upgrade instruction such as :

    I made sure I had all of the files and uploaded but still now difference

    And it was the case of a missing file the why would all of my other blogs work? I just don’t get it.

    hes talking about a missing file in the upload process. when you did this upgrade, maybe a file didnt upload all the way, or properly.

    but what about any plugins you may have that deal with categories? maybe one isnt compatible with that version of wordpress.

    I have disabled every plugin and still nothing happened. I also looked at the admin’s manage posts page and every single post says uncategorized.
