Has been an off and on problem for a month. Editor just shows insert media and that is it. No content showing in editor. Switch to text/html all is there. I deleted and installed new mce files. I deactivated all plugins and nothing changed. I have a XAMPP localhost that mirrors the live server and the editor works fine there. It is updated along with the localhost so it is the identical environment. Any ideas?

    Hello Mark,
    Sorry for my delay.

What do you mean you deleted and installed new “mce” files?

Can you perhaps show me a screenshot of what you are seeing? You’ll have to upload it somewhere, and link to it.

    Thanks.

My error Josh in mentioning your plugin or the Tinymce Advanced plugin. At that time i was writing you if you had advice. Problem was with the tinymce stock editor not showing up. Had nothing to do with your plugin. All is well now. I tried at least a dozen methods. The only solution initially was to insert a define debug script in the config.php under host and that stopped the minification so the individual files would load. When I mentioned new mce files, I meant uploading a new wp-includes and wp-admin file. Out of the blue, 4 days after the issue, it disappeared. Unless proven otherwise, it was a cache issue I suspect at the server; although i cannot prove it. The editor is an achilles heel in wordpress that needs to be addressed by the powers that be. Just google “visual editor disappeared” and you will see I am not the only one. Thanks for coming back and you have a nice plugin.

    Well thanks, Mark.

I know what you are talking about with the “define debug” script. I have seen it in discussions before. I’m not sure exactly what/how it fixes things… but I’m certainly glad it worked for you.

Please do keep me posted if you notice the issue has not gone away.
