    The strangest thing:
On one server the plugin works fine. I move all the files from test to production, and the plugin causes a fatal error.

    Error is:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /path-here/www/wp-content/plugins/yop-poll/inc/templates_admin.php on line 1

Both setups are WP 4.4.2 and YOP Poll 5.7.9.
Test is PHP 5.3.29 and production is 5.3.10

I have redownloaded and transferred the plugin files, no change.

Any ideas what can be causing this?

    Hey adrianip

So far we were unable to replicate this.

Can you let me know if php version was the only difference between test and production?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back.
It’s possible there are small differences, depends on what I need to look for.

However, only ‘significant’ difference is the Server API.
In test that is “LiteSpeed V6.9” and in production it’s “CGI/FastCGI”.

    Does this give any clues?
